Your chances of being admitted to a certain college can increase with a high SAT score. It’s ideal to aim for at least 1200 on the SAT even though there isn’t a set minimum for an “excellent” score. You will have a good chance of being admitted to a number of colleges if your final SAT score is close to the national average. The higher your SAT score, the greater your chances of acceptance at elite colleges will be.

Additionally, many schools measure merit-based aid on SAT results, so getting an above-average score might help you save a lot of money and prevent you from going into serious debt for your education.
